Eric Stephenson posted this open letter on Image Comics website today. In this time of crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we applaud this sense of community.  The comics community is supported by a very fragile financial infrastructure. We are also concerned like Mr. Stephenson about its future.

Dear Colleagues,

When you’re younger, you don’t think about being old enough to tell “I remember when…” stories, but for most of us that day inevitably arrives.

Today, I’m remembering when there were no comic book stores.

Finding comics back then could be a real challenge.

Last Gameboard announced that it has been invited to participate in the 7th Annual Startup of the Year Global Competition & Summit from October 14 -16. Taking place in Downtown Memphis and powered by Established and Start Co., the seventh annual installment of the event will see 100 startups from around the globe to showcase their game-changing products and services to seasoned investors, corporate accelerators and innovators, and industry leaders as they compete for a coveted spot in the Top 5 and up to $100K in investments.

Last Gameboard will join the ranks of great companies that have passed through their events over the past decade such as GrubHub, ShearShare, Maxwell Health, Groupon and Uber.“We’re so excited – and here’s a quote about why we’re so very excited” said Founder Rob Wyatt and  Co-Founder Shail Mehta.

Last Gameboard will compete in a private pitch round, showcase their innovation at the SOTY Showcase on 10/15 at AutoZone Park, and if selected as one of the Top 5 Finalists, present on 10/16 at the iconic Peabody Hotel Memphis Rooftop/Skydeck on stage to esteemed judges such as, the Summit audience, and the Memphis community.​
