The Bat-Man: Second Knight #1

There are four New Number Ones that debut today that we want to tell you about. Typically, in this column, we bring you advanced reviews of comics that are coming out this week.

PCS Review:

This is the next great satire comic from Ahoy Comics. Garth Ennis and Jacen Burrows have collaborated to create an action-filled, raunchy, romp through the fantasy realm of comics. The character design and visual story telling is excellent. The dialogue and character plot points are full of humor and scratch that super-important plausible itch, and that allows the satire to infiltrate the narrative.

Andy Troy and Rob Steen are the unsung cleanup hitters for Ahoy Comics. On colors and letters respectively, they give such a professional and clean wrapper to the story, but they also really hit you with amazing artistic choices and execution at times. Some examples of those are in areas of background shading and sound effects.

While there is not a huge amount of new series this week, there are some very interesting ones on this list. We have books on this week’s list from: DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse Comics, IDW Publishing, Humanoids, Inc., and Boom! Studios.

PCS NOTES: A Batman book that is reaching out to Europe. Stuff like this is encouraging because it exposes Batman fans to other genres and different types of comic characters. We are hopeful for a good story.
