With the holiday shopping season in the rear view mirror, it seems that everyone has come out with a project that they are looking to get crowdfunded. We waded through the list of 255 live campaigns in the Comics category to find the ones that we need to boost. There are definitely a few campaigns on this list that you will want to check out.
Kickstarter is a platform available at Kickstarter.com where creative individuals have the ability to design and run a crowdfunding campaign. The concept is that individuals pledge to support the project, and if the project reaches the planned goal of pledge money in the time that campaign is running, then the project will get made. There are usually many various tiers of backer pledges, and different pledge levels come with different backer reward items. It is a fantastic way for creators to fund the projects that they love and want to create while getting new interesting things into the world.
The campaigns we highlighted for this month are in various states of funding. Some are fully funded and into the state of trying to hit stretch goals that come with even more cool stuff for backers and some are still in need of backers to hit their goal and get their project made.
Some of these projects are being run by well established entities and others are entries by much smaller and newer creators. All the campaigns have been chosen because we want them to succeed, and because we see something special in the product. Here are the fourteen that we think you should check out!!!
The projects are listed below in chronological order of the end of the campaign. So, the ones that end soonest come first. Make sure you click on the Campaign Links for each campaign to get all the detailed info about the rewards and creators. We feel there is something for everyone on this list. Enjoy!
The Switch: Electricia
The remastered “ELECTRIFYING EDITION” of the Switch Graphic novel- in softcover for the first time!
Ending: Tue, February 14 2023 12:00 PM EST.
PCS Thoughts: We are exited to see this creator owned property in a remastered collection and are equally excited for the next volume.
From the Campaign:
THE SWITCH: ELECTRICIA returns in this remastered, softcover version of the acclaimed graphic novel! Relive Electricia’s perilous journey from villain to (kinda?) hero in this new, 112-page deluxe edition featuring scores of never-before-seen script, artwork, a pin up section by legendary artists such as Romeo Tanghal, Neil Edwards, Paul Pelletier, and more!
Equally as exciting, this remastered edition of The Switch sets the stage for the long-awaited return of Electricia in an all-new adventure coming later this year from the original creative team of Keith Champagne, Tom Nguyen and Robb Miller.
Hang on to your hats because the bitch…er… we mean, The Switch is back in a big way and it all begins here!
WAIT… WHO THE F*CK IS THE SWITCH!?!?
THE SWITCH: ELECTRICIA is the story of Jenn Bellino AKA Electricia, one of the most infamous supervillains the world has ever seen.
For years, Electricia and her villainous allies, along with her boyfriend Stefan Dobiejko AKA Lover Boy, have terrorized mankind as a team of super-powered villains known as MURDERER’S ROW. Their combined list of crimes against humanity is longer than an encyclopedia. There’s nothing they haven’t done; less they won’t yet do, and few that dare to try and stop them.
Until a mysterious new superhero, The Switch, appears on the scene. Nobody knows who The Switch is. Nobody knows where she came from. And that’s just the way The Switch needs things to stay. Because The Switch has a deadly secret and if she’s not careful, it’ll get her killed. Or worse, unmasked.
Because underneath the red and yellow mask that covers The Switch’s face is none other than Electricia, desperately trying to restart her life and atone for her misdeeds while there still may be a chance to become the person her father always hoped.
But even as Jenn Bellino’s villainous Electricia persona is being chased by a group of superheroes intent on bringing her to justice, The heroic Switch identity finds herself in the crosshairs of her former villainous friends.
Someone should have told Electricia: switching can be deadly.
The Relentless Lark
An urban vigilante goes on a genre-hopping tour of her hometown to hunt down the copycat impersonating her superhero father.
Ending: Fri, February 17 2023 11:20 AM EST
PCS Thoughts: We have been supporting this “Universe” that included the Young Offenders and are looking forward to this project. There are simple and affordable backer tiers for this campaign.
From the Campaign:
Jane Robinson returns home to Chicago for what promises to be an eventful three-day weekend after reports that The Lark has returned from his long-absence to wage war on crime. That’s a problem for Jane because she’s The Lark. And before her father disappeared a year ago, he was The Lark.
So now she’s got three nights to track this copycat down before he does further damage to her family legacy. That’s three nights full of violent beatdowns, a haunted mansion, and a manhunt through a blizzard.
Each installment of this three issue series will be in its own genre with its own unique style owing to a different artist:
#1 – The Action: Max Pinelli brings the first issue to life as The Lark fights her way through each floor of a mob-owned building in pursuit of the copycat. With limited tools and vastly outnumbered, she’ll prove how relentless she is.
#2 – The Gothic: A lead brings The Lark to a masquerade ball outside the city where a group of wealthy elites chase a means for eternal life. What happens when the cure is worse than the ailment? Drawn by Kaylee Rowena.
#3 – The Hunt: The game of cat-and-mouse between The Lark and the copycat escalates in a manhunt ontop of the frozen waters of Lake Michigan during a whiteout blizzard. The Lark will need to figure out just how far she’s willing to go to protect her father’s legacy. Drawn by Becca Kubrick.
On a dark, snowy road in New Jersey, a bootlegger unleashes hell after his booze gets hijacked.
Ending: Fri, February 17 2023 10:00 PM EST
PCS Thoughts: This looks like a fun comic, and we are happy to back it.
From the Campaign:

A full-color fantasy comic featuring characters from Destiny NY; Afterglow; and Smoke Weed, See The Future.

SMOKE WEED, SEE THE FUTURE — a world where a Seer creates a strain of marijuana that allows normal people to see what she does… their future. Artwork by JOHN McGUINNESS (Destiny, NY Trading Card Game) and colors by FIN CRAMB (White Ash), written by creator PAT SHAND
AFTERGLOW — a post-apocalyptic world with giant, glowing, mutated animals and those that hunt and protect them. Artwork by ARIEL MEDEL (Xena: Warrior Princess, Zenescope’s Grimm Fairy Tales) and colors by LEONARDO PACIAROTTI (TMNT: Shredder in Hell, Zenescope’s Wonderland), created by PAT SHAND and written by JEFF MASSEY (Warlord of Oz).

Lynn Smith tell a story about rebel Lacey and her giant, radioactive cat. Now, Pat Shand’s world returns with writer Jeff Massey (Warlord of Oz) who introduces Vixx, a new character who will return in her own series by Pat & Jeff.
Cerulean Dreams #1 can be read and entirely enjoyed by new readers. It includes stories based on worlds that returning readers will remember fondly.

Intrusive Thoughts #1 – A 28 page horror mystery
An atmospheric horror comic which deals with themes of loneliness, anxiety, and depression.
Ending: Thu, February 23 2023 8:00 AM EST
PCS Thoughts: We are interested in reading this comic, and if you are looking for quick turnaround on Kickstarter comics, this is one to check out. The art and story both look great.
From the Campaign:
When a high school bully pushes a latchkey teenager’s corroding mental state over the edge, Tyler’s mind fractures, birthing a ravenous demon formed from his damning intrusive thoughts. In order to keep his darkness at bay, Tyler must learn to love himself before he atrophies and consumes everything and everyone he’s come to know.
At 3 years old, Tyler was abandoned on the steps of a police station. Now, at age 16, he’s prone to migraines, night terrors, & sleep paralysis. His mental health becomes even more strained when his sleep paralysis demon bites one of his classmates.
Intrusive Thoughts is a special story for me because it deals with themes of loneliness, anxiety, and depression. I struggle with all 3 so working on Intrusive Thoughts provided a real sense of catharsis. I hope readers get a similar feeling when reading it.
Fans of smart, cerebral horror or atmospheric thrillers will love Intrusive Thoughts.
Intrusive Thoughts Issue 1 is the start of a six-issue horror mystery comic book series that’s a combination of The Sandman and Where The Wild Things are. The first issue is 28 full color pages.
Intrusive Thoughts Issue #1 is already done and the PDF will be sent out immediately once the campaign ends.

If you’re new to White Ash Comics, WELCOME. Glarien: Short and Deadly is a stand alone anthology of stories that are a perfect introduction to our universe. So you don’t have to be well-versed in White Ash lore to enjoy the ride. But, if you want to get caught up on all things White Ash and Glarien or even our other series like The Game and How I Slept My Way Through College and Other Tales from Freshman Year, we’ll have tiers for that.
So, what’s this book about?
Glarien: Short and Deadly includes eight, self-contained stories, that as a whole, follow the journey of a young elf warrior as she evolves over three thousand years. We see the brashness of her youthful escapades washed away as the pain of lovers lost starts to take its toll. This journey ultimately culminates in Glarien reaching a more emotionallly mature stage of life where she begins to think about the future and the legacy she wants to leave behind. Oh, and expect carnage… lots and LOTS of carnage.

Cannonball Presents: boom.
Cannonball is a slice-of-life/horror mash-up about the everyday family life turned upside down by the macabre, twisted and unfamiliar.
Ending: Thu, March 9 2023 10:57 AM EST
PCS Thoughts: This is a great example of an Indie creator making their comic and getting it into people’s hands. We think this looks fantastic and enthusiastically are backing it.
From the Campaign:
Welcome to Cannonball Presents: boom. (yes, the period is on purpose) Twenty pages of four slice-of-life/horror short stories, graytoned and collected from my webcomic at Cannonballcomic.com.
These stories are about the mundane everyday family life turned upside down by the macabre, twisted and unfamiliar where getting a child ready in the morning can devolve (literally) into a nightmare.
My name is Brandon De Pillis, and I’m a carpenter living in south Minneapolis. About twelve years ago I picked up a pencil and started drawing again. I love comics! Always have since that first time when I was 10 years old and Billy Kostovski’s mom gave me a stack of free comics. I immediately started filling up 3 subject notebooks with my own drawings and characters (a familiar story among comic geeks like me and probably you) and it’s why I got my degree in art. I studied photography, still drew some, and produced a few indie short films.
A little over twelve years ago, I made a very conscious decision. Enjoy life more. Enjoy the things I loved, COMICS! But more than that I was going to make my own! After ten years of LOTS of failures, LOTS of learning and developing my own voice and style I launched my own webcomic in 2020 and put myself out into the world for better or worse.
boom. is the beginning.
I wrote, illustrated and lettered the entire book (and I’m full steam into the next one, a 30 page one shot) It has become a family affair, with my wife kindly lending digital production support as well as emotional support and much needed heap of honesty from time to time. My daughter joins in writing assist and is developing quite an eye for the editorial process. (Don’t ask about the bagel)
Jump on in and enjoy!
