Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart — legendary member of WWE Tag Team Champions the “Hart Foundation” and father to current WWE Superstar “Natalya”— passed away due to complications of an accident in his home, on the morning of August 13th, 2018.
Numerous news sites will cover The Anvil’s career, his familial connections, and the outpouring of support from the wrestling community over this shocking loss. We here at Pop Culture Squad implore you, if you’re interested in the legacy of The Anvil, to check out any number of his matches on the WWE Network or YouTube.
Neidhart in the ring, was always booked as a brick-house of a man. The powerful yin to Bret Hart’s technical yang. Neidhart outside of the ring was long referred to a big bad teddybear; proud of his daughter’s in-ring career that has seen her wrestle across numerous continents and breaking barriers as only his daughter could.
Jim’s career saw him tangle in the squared circle across Canada, Japan, and of course the USA while working for the WWF and later WCW, and ECW. He would return to the WWF in the late 90’s to reform the Hart Foundation to limited success.
Jim leaves behind his wife, Ellie, and three daughters. He was 63.
Stunned and saddened. I just don’t have the words right now. pic.twitter.com/fcO8Skuuhz
